CALGARY, Oct. 8 /CNW
Dr Reinhold Vieth of the University of Toronto and Canada's top researcher on Vitamin D nutrition is coming to Calgary to address both health care professionals and the public. The topic of his presentations will be Vitamin D for Disease Prevention and Treatment. He will emphasize that Calgarians do not get enough Vitamin D for optimal health and that widespread Vitamin D deficiency is taking a very large toll.
The public presentation on Thursday, October 13 is open to everyone and is free. Literature on Vitamin D and health will be available. The presentation will be in the Wildrose Ballroom at the Sheraton Suites Hotel in downtown Calgary at 255 Barclay Parade (corner of 2nd Ave and 3rd St SW). Doors open at 7:00 pm and the presentation starts at 7:30. No pre-registration is necessary.
p>Dr Vieth will provide convincing evidence that Vitamin D deficiency is a significant factor in numerous serious diseases including breast cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, multiple sclerosis, arthritis, osteoporosis and diabetes. Furthermore, he will demonstrate that most Calgarians are deficient in Vitamin D and that this greatly increases their risk of these diseases.
